Horror-stricken

Unable of bearing

Ongoing sufferings,

Fled from destruction

In Vietnam

Slender,

Poverty-stricken

Children of Africa
Died Everyday

In Hunger

And without water

Because of the war

They were never part of

In Gaza Strip

And in the suburbs

And in Israel

Heartless Suicidal Bombs

And Air Raids

Give Rise to the Ongoing Death toll

Of Children

For Many years

 
Aylan drowned,

Whose motionless body

Laid in Bodrum Shore

Made cry

The whole world

Without any boundaries

So the sea

Omran in Aleppo,

Whose blood soaked face

And Promising Eyes

Made me cry

as they did for the whole world

The boy in Striped Pyjamas

Told us that the war is senseless

And is meaningless

 
Abundantly

We have been told that

The war destruct ourselves

But just for a piece of land

Or for Meaningless Propaganda

Or just for the sake of a disagreement

And for the unquenched greed

We put aside lessons learnt

As Valueless

What’s the meaning of Wars

Those are destined to break out?

නොදකින දාට මගෙ සිත දුබල ලෙඩවන
සුව කෙරුමට නුඹෙ වචනෙකට පුළුවන
දිය නෑමට නුඹ තනියම ළිඳ ගාව
මම සිටියෙමි නුඹ එන තෙක් වෙල ගාව
මම එදා කලෙමි නුඹෙ බහ විමසීම
මතකයි නුඹේ අද වාගෙම බිය වීම
ගෙදරින් හොරා මෙතුවක් පෙම් බැන්ද හැටි
භීනය නොවන බව අප විමසීම වටී
සමුගෙන නුඹ එදා කොළඹ ගිය හැටි
මට මතකයි හිර කර ගත් කදුළු කැටි
ටීචර් වෙලා නුඹ ගම රට ආවාම
උදෑහනම නුඹ හොරැහින් බැලුවාම
කෙරුමට නොහැක තව තව ඒ ඉවසීම
එක් වීලා හිඳිමුය අප හැමදාම
නෑනා මස්සිනා වූයේ පූරුවේ කරුමයට
ගෙදරින් අවසරේ නොලැබෙන විට අපට
නුඹ එනවාද ඈතට අපි පියඹන්ට
හැම ප්‍රශ්නෙකටම විසඳුම් දිය හැක එවිට

Asked timely
Waited expectedly
Received positively

Thought continuously
Held tightly
Went smoothly
Dreamed vividly
Planned indefinitely
Collaborated fittingly
Loved blindly
Ended abruptly
Avoided Deliberately
Broken easily
Cried immensely
Understood finally
Loved Really?
Or
